The Prophecy of a President

"The Prophecy of a President"

The rain poured heavily in the streets of Abuja, drumming against rooftops as Dachung Bagos scrolled through an old video on his phone. The dim glow of his screen flickered against his tense expression. It was a speech—one given years ago by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

"If we do not tread carefully, the pillars of our economy will shake. If we let division thrive, our democracy will suffer. If we do not protect our people, security will become our greatest nightmare."

Bagos exhaled sharply. Every word, every warning—Jonathan had spoken them a decade ago, yet they had unfolded like a script written in the stars. The streets that once bustled with hopeful traders now echoed with whispers of fear. The naira had crumbled, the cost of living soared, and villages once filled with laughter were now ghost towns haunted by the echoes of violence.

He looked out the window, the city lights struggling to pierce through the thick fog of uncertainty. Could it have been avoided? Were they too blind to see? Or had Nigeria ignored the prophecy of a president, only to now wake up in its chilling reality?

Bagos tapped his screen, his voice shaking but firm. “Jonathan wasn’t just a leader. He was a prophet.”

The video went live. Within minutes, the comments flooded in. Some in agreement. Some in denial. But one thing was clear—everyone was watching.
