A former Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Dennis Amachree, has warned President Bola Tinubu that his "state of emergency" on security is meaningless unless he orders the immediate arrest and prosecution of those funding national sabotage.

Following widespread concerns over the nation's soaring insecurity and allegations of internal sabotage within the military, former DSS Director Dennis Amachree has delivered a blunt message to the President.

Appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Amachree argued that mere pronouncements and declarations of a state of security emergency are completely ineffective without swift, targeted action against the individuals bankrolling the violence.

🛑 "Arrests Are Necessary" to Instill Fear

Amachree emphasized that to rebuild public trust and make the security emergency meaningful, the government must move beyond identifying financiers to actually detaining them.

“I believe that arrests are necessary to make this state of emergency more effective,” Amachree stated. “Let’s not simply state that these individuals have been identified as financiers and no arrests have been made.”

He stressed that the time for talking is over and immediate prosecution is required to restore order and demonstrate serious resolve.

“There should be arrests, and of course we should instill fear in their hearts to ensure that they cannot just do anything and get away with it,” he concluded.

❓ WHAT'S YOUR VIEW?
