📰 Title: “From Mic to Mugshot: Portable Lands in Prison After War of Words with Saheed Osupa”
One moment, he was live on Instagram. The next, he’s behind iron bars.
The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner, known for his fiery tongue and unpredictable flair, has finally hit a wall — and this time, it’s made of stone and steel.
Controversial street-hop sensation Okikiola Badmus, aka Portable, has been remanded in Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State — not for a brawl, not for a wild performance, but for defamation.
Yes, you read that right.
This time, his beef wasn’t with random trolls or rival fans.
It was with a legend.
The respected Fuji maestro, Akorede Okunola, better known as Saheed Osupa.
And what triggered it all?
A viral Instagram live rant, dripping with insults and allegations that lit up the internet like kerosene on fire.
“This man dey try bring down my shine!
He chop snail with the shell—he no get sense.
Osupa na tortoise.
When Apple Music wan drop money, na him remove my song!”
That’s not just drama — that’s digital dynamite.
Within 48 hours, the video had sparked more than just outrage.
It sparked a lawsuit.
Filed under FIR 117(1) CPC, and backed by the State Intelligence Department, the petition accused Portable of criminal defamation, intimidation, and inciting public disturbance.
The court wasted no time.
He was granted bail at ₦1 million — but with conditions heavier than his lyrics:
-
Two sureties, one of whom must be a top official in the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria
-
The other, a verified property owner in a Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Ilorin
-
With valid Certificate of Occupancy in hand.
Portable couldn’t meet the bar.
So now, the self-proclaimed “Ika of Africa” is cooling off in custody — a cage far from the stage.
He reportedly confessed during interrogation. But fans are divided.
Some say it’s karma, others say it’s clampdown on freedom of expression.
One fan tweeted: “Portable talk too much — but Osupa sef no suppose vex like that.”
Another wrote: “They want to silence the street. But we’re still loud!”
As the legal fireworks continue, the judge has adjourned the case and urged all parties to maintain peace.
But online?
Peace is the last thing happening.
💬 So we ask YOU —
Is Portable being made an example of?
Did Osupa overreact or defend his name with class?
