🤯 "85% of Economy Controlled By Christians": Bishop Kukah Dismisses Persecution Claims, Points Finger at Disunity!

Catholic Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah has sparked a major debate, challenging the popular narrative that Christians in Nigeria are being persecuted by highlighting their overwhelming control over the economy and education sector.

In a bold move that cuts against prevailing public discussions, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, the respected Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese and Convener of the National Peace Committee, has strongly dismissed the idea that Nigerian Christians are victims of persecution.

📈 The Power Figures: Education and Economy

Speaking publicly, Kukah cited compelling figures about the demographic and economic influence of the Christian community, using them to question the 'persecution' label.

According to a Vanguard report, Kukah stated:

“At least 80% of educated Nigerians are Christians, and up to 85% of the Nigerian economy is controlled by Christians.1 With such figures, how can anyone say Christians are being persecuted?”

⚠️ The Real Problem: Internal Disunity

Instead of external forces, Bishop Kukah argued that the biggest challenges facing Christians in Nigeria stem from internal disunity.2

He stressed that many of the problems plaguing the community would end the day Christians decide to "stand together," believing that an attack on one is an attack on all. For Kukah, the solution lies in unity, not claims of victimhood.

❓ WHAT'S YOUR VIEW?

Do you agree with Bishop Kukah that the economic and educational dominance of Christians means claims of persecution are misplaced, and that internal disunity is the bigger challenge? Join the debate below!
