🕊️ "I Begged Miyetti Allah on My Knees": Cleric Reveals the Dramatic Secret Behind Plateau's 2-Week Peace!
In an emotional and stunning admission, Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo shares how he knelt before herder leaders to end the bloodshed—and why the guns have finally gone silent in Plateau villages.
A flicker of hope has returned to the troubled lands of Plateau State. For the first time in years, the relentless cycle of midnight raids and farmland destruction has paused. According to Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), the state is breathing a sigh of relief as two weeks have passed without a single reported killing.
But the price of this silence was a rare act of humility that has sent shockwaves across social media.
🙏 The Cleric's Gambit: Begging for Mercy
Speaking on Channels Television, Rev. Dachomo revealed that he took the desperate step of personal supplication to break the deadlock of violence.
“I had to kneel down before Miyetti Allah and beg them to give us peace,” he disclosed. “I told them on my knees that we’ve given you peace for so many years, and you’ve been supplying crisis to us. They raised me up and said ‘Thank you.’”
The cleric noted that following this emotional plea and ongoing reconciliation efforts, members of the Fulani community have appeared more restrained, and the systemic destruction of crops has halted.
⏳ A 20-Year Displacement Crisis
Despite the current calm, Dachomo warns that the wounds run deep. He painted a grim picture of a 20-year conflict that has left 161 villages displaced and thousands unable to return to their ancestral homes.
He traced the origins of the crisis back to a time of peaceful coexistence, where local farmers welcomed herders, only for tensions to explode around the year 2000. Dachomo alleged that the initial hospitality was eventually exploited, leading to what he described as an influx of reinforcements from the north that escalated into a full-blown territorial war.
🛡️ Can This Peace Last?
While a visiting Senate delegation evaluates the newfound calm, the question remains: Is this a genuine reconciliation or merely a temporary ceasefire? Rev. Dachomo is advocating for a permanent return to the "peace of our forefathers," where both Christians and Muslims shared the land without the fear of the sword.
❓ WHAT IS YOUR TAKE?
Was the Reverend right to kneel and beg for peace to save lives, or does this show a total failure of state security? Can a peace built on personal pleas last against a 20-year displacement crisis? Share your thoughts below! 👇🇳🇬🕊️
