Altar Boy's Shocking Betrayal: Priests Rescued from Ransom Plot!
A chilling tale of deception and rescue has unfolded in Adamawa State, where two Catholic priests, Rev. Fathers Matthew David Dusami and Abraham Samman, were found locked in a room after a harrowing abduction ordeal. But the real shocker? The alleged mastermind was none other than Taledo Demiel, an altar servant within their own church.
The priests were snatched from their convent in Gweda Mallam, Numan Local Government Area, on February 22nd, sparking widespread concern. Demiel, entrusted with serving the church, reportedly demanded a staggering N10 million ransom for their release.
The plot thickened when Demiel, sensing the presence of security forces, abandoned the ransom and fled, leaving his motorcycle behind. This crucial piece of evidence led authorities to his residence, where they discovered the priests, bound and locked away.
"Upon suspecting that there were security operatives around, he abandoned the ransom and ran away leaving his motorcycle behind as evidence," a source revealed. "Thereafter his house was forced open and the two priests were found locked up on a room and rescued."
Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza of the Yola diocese confirmed the priests' safe return, though he remained tight-lipped about Demiel's alleged involvement. Police Spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje had earlier condemned the "unprovoked kidnapping," detailing how armed suspects stormed the priests' residence in the early hours.
The priests, serving in the Adamawa and Taraba dioceses, are now safe, but the community is reeling from this shocking betrayal.
