ABUJA — In a stunning revelation that has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian political establishment, Senator Abdulaziz Yari has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is effectively "caged" within the Presidential Villa while the real power is wielded from the outside.

Speaking at the One Nigeria Project Conference in Abuja, the former Zamfara State Governor pulled back the curtain on the "inner workings" of the Presidency, suggesting a shadow government is running the show.

Yari, representing Zamfara West, didn't mince words when describing the isolation of the Commander-in-Chief.

"Those close to the Presidency know that the Presidency is being run from outside the Villa than inside," Yari declared. "We already have the President caged there, we locked him, but we do the operations."

The lawmaker lamented that the elite are the primary problem in Nigeria, accusing them of knowing the truth but choosing to "abuse" the President regardless.

"Trump Can’t Help Us"

Addressing global politics, Yari dismissed the idea that external powers like U.S. President Donald Trump could fix Nigeria’s internal crises.

"Don’t call Trump; it’s the business of Nigerians," Yari asserted. "He has no business in Nigeria. The problem of Nigeria can only be solved by Nigerians." He noted that despite decades of internal havoc, from 1914 to the June 12 crisis, a higher power has kept the nation together, but that the current "caging" of the leadership remains a massive hurdle.

Elite Intervention?

Yari’s comments imply a disconnect between the official residence of power and the actual decision-makers. He revealed that he had met with the President the night before, hinting that the "operations" handled by outsiders are a reality that the President himself might be aware of.
